Mai Atafo’s Runway “Bend-Down Boutique”

Bespoke fashion brand, Mai Atafo’s AW17 collection is all sorts of amazing. Designed and tailored by owner, Mai Atafo, some pieces of the collection were inspired by secondhand clothing! That, to me, is what makes this collection truly stand out. The funny inscriptions like “bend down & select” and “first grade secondhand” make the clothes fun statement pieces for men.

This collection was revealed at the 2017 Lexus South Africa Menswear Week a few days ago. It included, not only street wear, but tailored suits, formal shirts and custom lapel puffs as well.

Sooooo my fav look is from the smart collection, the black model in the denim shirt, trousers with what looks to be a print tie and a fab beige hat. When it comes to the more casual looks, its nice to see designers taking risks with menswear via the tongue-in-cheek slogans which is often what I see in womenswear by designers like Henry Holland and Moschino/Jeremy Scott. ( :
